    Permits & Regulations

In most cases, no. Florida law exempts qualifying floating docks from Environmental Resource Permitting under Fla. Stat. 403.813(1)(b) — up to 1,000 sq ft over water (500 sq ft in Outstanding Florida Waters), one per parcel, non-commercial. A Letter of Consent for state-owned submerged lands is typically still required, and local building and zoning rules apply. We prepare the documentation and confirm your site qualifies.

It means your project fits inside the size and use limits Florida set for floating docks and jet ski ports under Fla. Stat. 403.813, so it does not need a full Environmental Resource Permit. It is not a USCG registration — the Coast Guard does not register recreational vessels or docks. It's a state law exemption, and we handle the paperwork that confirms it applies to your property.

The state exemption covers most residential installs, but some municipalities or HOAs have their own local rules on top of state law. We recommend checking with your local waterway authority and HOA to confirm. In our 15+ years of experience, the large majority of our customers haven't needed a separate permit.

Yes! Our modular floating docks work in virtually any body of water including lakes, ponds, rivers, bays, and ocean shorelines. The floating design adapts to changing water levels, making them perfect for tidal areas or reservoirs with fluctuating levels.

    Installation & Assembly

Most Docklife floating docks are professionally installed by our own crew in 2-4 hours. Our modular interlocking system lets us assemble and launch quickly on-site. Larger custom configurations may take a full day.

In Florida, every Docklife floating dock is delivered and professionally installed by our own crew as part of the price. Each cube connects with our interlocking pin system, so installation is quick and clean. Outside Florida we ship the product only — the customer or their contractor assembles it. The pin system is designed for that.

In Florida, none — our crew brings everything. Outside Florida, assembly takes a rubber mallet and an adjustable wrench plus the pin tool and wrench included on your pallet. Cubes are positioned on the water from a small boat or kayak.

Yes. In Florida, floating docks are priced delivered and professionally installed by our own crew across the 43 counties we serve. Jet ski ports are delivered free in Florida, with professional installation available as an optional $200 add-on. We do not install outside Florida — out-of-state orders ship as a product the customer or their contractor assembles.

    Products & Materials

Our dock cubes are made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), a marine-grade plastic that's UV-resistant, won't rot, and is environmentally friendly. The material is the same used in kayaks and marine buoys—proven to last decades in harsh water conditions.

Yes! Our patented decking system supports Trex composite decking (Enhance Basics, grooved boards with hidden fasteners installed over pressure-treated framing) or our standard anti-slip HDPE surface. A bare dock is $105 per cube, delivered and professionally installed in Florida. Trex decking is the one line we bill by the square foot: $21 per framed square foot, including the 2x6 framed rim, so a decked dock is cubes × $105 plus framed sq ft × $21. A 10 × 20 ft dock is 72 cubes — $7,560 bare or $11,838 Trex-decked. Because the price follows the cube count, you can verify it by counting the cubes on your drawing. Decking is a Florida-only service.

Each standard dock cube provides 220 lbs of flotation. Our jet ski and PWC platforms support full-size personal watercraft. For specific weight requirements, contact us—we can engineer custom solutions for boats, heavy equipment, or commercial applications.

We offer floating docks from small residential platforms up to complete custom configurations. Docks are priced by the cube, not by the square foot: $105 per standard cube bare, delivered and professionally installed in Florida, plus Trex decking at $21 per framed square foot. Bare and Trex-decked prices are always shown together. A 6 × 10 ft dock is 24 cubes — $2,520 bare or $3,993 decked; a 12 × 20 ft is 84 cubes — $8,820 bare or $13,787 decked. You can verify any of it by counting the cubes on your drawing. Commercial and marina docks can be virtually any size. Use our Build Your Dock tool for instant quotes on custom sizes.

Yes, our docks are extremely stable. The modular interlocking design distributes weight evenly across multiple flotation chambers. Unlike single-pontoon docks, our multi-cube system provides excellent stability even in choppy water or with uneven weight distribution.

    Shipping & Delivery

We ship from Winter Garden, Florida. Florida orders are delivered and installed by our own crew. Orders outside Florida ship palletized by LTL freight to all 48 contiguous states.

In Florida, we schedule delivery and installation with you directly once your build is reserved. Outside Florida, freight transit depends on your distance from Winter Garden and is confirmed with your freight quote before you order.

Yes — we ship to all 48 contiguous states plus Washington, DC. We do not currently ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico. Out-of-state orders ship as a product only; delivery and installation by our crew are Florida services.

In Florida, delivery is included: floating docks are priced delivered and installed, and jet ski ports are delivered free with installation as an optional $200 add-on. Outside Florida, freight is quoted per destination based on pallet count and distance from Winter Garden. Send us your ZIP code and we'll price the freight before you order.

Cubes ship stacked and strapped on pallets — up to 27 cubes per pallet — with pins and hardware boxed on the same pallet. Residential deliveries arrive by liftgate truck; no crane or forklift is needed. Inspect the pallet and note any damage on the delivery receipt before the driver leaves.
