Types of Anchoring Systems
Auger Anchors — These screw-style anchors twist into the lake or river bottom and hold the dock in place with chain or cable. They work well in sandy, muddy, or clay bottoms common in Central Florida lakes like Lake Butler, Lake Jessamine, and East Lake Toho. Auger anchors are our most popular option for residential installations.
Concrete Block Anchors — Heavy concrete blocks sit on the bottom and connect to the dock with chains. Simple and effective in calm water with minimal current. Good for small ponds and protected coves.
Pile Guide Systems — Vertical pipes or posts driven into the bottom. The dock slides up and down on the piles as water levels change. This system provides the most rigid positioning and is common in commercial and marina applications.
Shoreline Tie-Off — For docks that stay close to the bank, simple rope or cable tie-offs to trees, posts, or shoreline hardware can work. This is the simplest and least expensive approach.
