Why Relocate Instead of Replace?

A quality floating dock is a real investment. If you are moving from a house on Lake Nona to a property on the Butler Chain of Lakes, there is no reason to leave your dock behind and buy a new one. Our modular systems are designed to be disassembled, transported, and reassembled at a new location.

Relocation costs less than buying new. Your existing cubes, connectors, decking, and accessories all move with you. The only new expense may be an updated anchoring system if your new location has different water depth or bottom conditions.

How Dock Relocation Works

Step 1: Disassembly — We disconnect the anchoring system, pull the dock to shore, and take it apart. Each cube, connector, and decking panel is cataloged and organized for transport.

Step 2: Transport — The disassembled dock is loaded onto a truck or trailer and driven to the new location. Our cubes stack neatly, so even large docks fit on a standard trailer.

Step 3: Site Assessment — At the new location, we evaluate the shoreline, water depth, bottom type, and any specific conditions. We adjust the dock layout if needed to fit the new site.

Step 4: Reassembly and Launch — We reassemble the dock on the new shoreline, install the anchoring system, and launch the dock into position. The process mirrors a new installation and typically takes a few hours.

Repositioning on Your Property

Not every relocation involves a new property. Sometimes you just want to move the dock to a different spot on your own shoreline. Maybe the original position gets too much wave action, or you want the dock closer to a new seating area you built. We handle on-property repositioning the same way — pull the dock, move it along the bank, and re-anchor it in the new spot.

Things to Consider

Before relocating, check whether your new location has any restrictions on floating docks. Many qualifying floating docks are exempt from Environmental Resource Permitting under Fla. Stat. 403.813, but some waterways have specific regulations about dock placement, size, or distance from navigation channels, and local rules still apply.

Water depth at the new location matters for anchoring. If you are moving from a shallow pond to a deep lake, you may need longer anchor chains or a different anchoring system. We advise on this during the site assessment.
